Can I Set Up A Website For Free, Get It Registered With Search Engines And Generate Ad/affiliate Revenue?

I have a list of free websites and I have a list to register my website.
What I am wondering is can I create a website with wordpress and or freepress7 and then register my site with various search engines and then place my own ads or affiliate links on my site?
I know this is asking a lot, I thought I would start out with free sites to see if anyone is interested in my websites and then see if I can make some money and then go for the paid site.

Yes but you will quickly find that free providers are always limiting – uptime, access, loadtimes, some even limit what links you can upload. Save the heartache and get an inexpensive host… there are so many out there.

trust me mate thats not asking a lot compared to some of the questions i read here every day :P
Right so ive done the EXACT same thing as you want to do, except in the TOS of word press i believe if you want to put ads you need to pay a few hundred a month, so i use Blogger made by Google and you can ad Google ads VERY easily, Then adding it to Google is possible and its adviseale as it will get you more visits, though i have added mine to Google, Digg.com and technorait and also a very handy web banner trading service for free. So this will get me easily a few hundred views, then the readers if they find your news interesting they will add it to other websites (as i found out :) ) and then so on…. so its quite easy but quite time consuming…. possibly because i had to look at it from lots of angles.

Sure. Make sure you check the hosts terms and conditions before signing up, to make sure they allow you to use ads.
You could try AwardSpace. Thats who I use, and they’re generally pretty reliable, decents speeds, and cheap to upgrade to paid hosting. Note that I dont know their ad policy on free accounts though…http://www.awardspace.com/

You should be able to. With something like adsense or whatnot.
It would depend on if the you were approved or not.
